Industrial Photography in Cornwall
… So there I stood, in a pool of oil as the team in front of me fought to clean up the carnage.
It’s not every day I’m given the chance to put on a hi-vis, hard hat and a full fire retardant boiler suit, but when projects like this come up, I have to admit – I love it.
LCM Environmental came to me with the idea of producing an archive of high-quality, descriptive images, showcasing their services and expertise in environmental clean-up and prevention. After going over the brief we decided that this project was going to be a mixture of a lot of driving, health and safety protocols and the occasional hero shot. In highly sensitive situations like this, the pre-planning of each individual shot must be in mind before walking on site.
I love climbing ladders, crawling through tunnels and just getting altogether greasy. Whether it’s photographing cargo ship engine rooms or climbing a semi-demolished building to shoot asbestos removal, I’m always happy to take the chance to work in an industrial environment.
